NaNoWriMo Update #1

I've reached a milestone... I've written over 25% of the 50,000 word goal! The only bad part is that the month is nearly half over and most of what has been written was completed over a year ago. I'm not making as much progress as I'd like, mostly attributed to my busy schedule - teaching, learning, researching, partying, visiting friends and family, etc. It's a hectic schedule! Maybe this Thanksgiving holiday, I can find some down time to splatter some words into pixels and upload them for a much needed spectacular jump.

Enough about me. How is your novel coming along?

NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo.Org was a website I was told about by a Jesse James enthusiast/author in Europe. Although I don't know her personally except through email, I would like to thank her for referring this web site to me so I may be motivated to meet the 50,000 word goal by the end of November.

I have several novel ideas in my head, one of which I've started over a year ago, but have put aside in favor of other activities. Yes, I have way too much on my plate. Since the National Novel Writing Month is only open for one month out of the year, I thought it would be a good chance to at least try to add to my story.

My goal is to bridge the gap between what I have already written, which isn't much, and what is in my head. There is that space in between that needs to be explored and exploited. This is my opportunity to try a few things and hope they make enough sense to be part of my sci-fi novel.

If you have any ideas, get registered at the site by clicking on the icon above. Be sure to leave a comment here to let me know that you've registered, and also be sure to keep me informed of your progress as I will do for you on this blog.
