Yesterday, I returned to Pleasant Hill to run some necessary errands. While waiting for a phone call (that never came), I drove around town to see what they had in the way of monuments and memorials. I found two at Depot Park in the old part of town. There is also a memorial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at the northern end of town. Pictures of all three are below.

Thank you for looking. I'm curious how you found my blog, though. I seldom get any comments.
Interestingly enough, my interest in the Civil War began when I found one of my gg-grandfathers had fought for the Union. He nearly died in Rome, Georgia from a "cold that settled in his eyes" (according to his pension). It appears that Rome is not far from Cassville.
I hope to see you back soon.
Thanks!
It looks like my blog is gaining popularity in Georgia! That's great! Although a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW), I remain unbiased between the two sides. Mine is a matter of research. If and when I find a Confederate ancestor, I will be sure to join the SCV, too.
Meanwhile, I'll try to keep posting Civil War related items from both sides of the battle including monuments and memorials, some soldier burials, GAR and UCV post information, etc. as I come across it.
Thanks for visiting!
Brian
